A private clinical psychology practice — wherever you are in Texas
Psychology Care Associates is a clinical psychology practice based in Southlake, Texas. Telehealth is available in all of Texas, and in Virginia, where Dr. Riedo is also licensed. Because of telehealth, there is no drive across town, and no lobby. The session is a full clinical hour from a private place the patient already has. The connection is the same. The work does not get thinner because the hour is on a screen: the same assessment, the same method, the same expertise, the same undivided hour. What is lighter is everything around the session: the commute, the traffic, the time spent waiting before the hour. That is how most of this practice is seen.
The practice specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, addiction and sexual addiction, pornography addiction, infidelity, and betrayal trauma, with decades of combined clinical experience across university counseling, hospital and forensic settings, and private practice.

Elena Riedo, Psy.D., on the adolescent brain and pornography.
NBC 5 interviewed Dr. Riedo on what pornography does to a brain that is still under construction. Adolescence is a period of rapid myelination, reward learning, and unfinished prefrontal control. On-demand sexual imagery uses that same circuitry. The segment is a brief public explanation of a clinical problem she treats in the office. NBC 5 article.
Invited teaching
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas
A hospital lecture for clinicians and community partners.
Re-wired: Pornography on the Brain. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.
During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas asked Dr. Riedo to teach about the impact of pornography on the brain. The day brought together hospital staff, clinicians, and civic partners on sexual assault and human trafficking. Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall, Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown, and District Attorney Faith Johnson spoke to the city’s response to sex trafficking.
Dr. Riedo’s lecture, Re-wired: Pornography on the Brain, addressed how compulsive use is encoded, why a developing brain is more vulnerable to it, and where that use can sit beside sexual violence.
This is a record of invited teaching. It is not an endorsement of the practice.
